There are always obvious ways of gaining weight while personal training in Chicago:  Eating 2000 calorie hearty stews because it's -70 degrees outside, celebrating every life event with food and alcohol, etc.

Weight Loss Fitness in France

How do you meet your weight loss goals while you travel in France?  The easiest answer is walk everywhere.  In the City of Love, you'll want to.  

Every corner offers a little piece of Parisian culture.  Become an urban hiker for weight loss...your personal trainer in Chicago will be proud!  

Start your walk near the Opera district.   Once you reach the Champ Elysseus, walk the strip of designer shops and calorie burn as you check out high fashion and the Arc de Triumph.  

Head back south to the Eiffel Tower.  Don't wait in line though!   Bypass everyone as you walk up over 300 stairs to the second floor to catch your elevator.  

Finish your French burn by jumping on the Blue Bike Tour.  This 4 hour bike tour starts in the Latin Quarter-France's academic neighborhood.  The uneven streets and small hills will give you a weight loss burn your Chicago personal trainer will be grateful for.  

As you travel from the left to the right banks of the Seine River, your views and shoes will be overwhelmed with new French energy and history.  If you remember, bring a lock to attach to the famous lock bridge with your sweetheart.

Vacation doesn't mean an absence from weight loss.  The active lifestyle can be created with the right planning.

Try this Watermelon and Tomato Salsa Recipe While You Lose Weight!

My personal training clients are always looking for new weight loss recipes.  You can never go wrong by choosing ingredients that are fruits, vegetables, beans, seeds, and legumes.  Finding a tasty combination to keep you on your track to weight loss and looking fabulous is the tough part, though. 

I recommend googling the terms "fast recipes" and begin experimenting to see what you like.  Cooking is a science after all!  The NY Times recently posted a quick and delicious recipe for Watermelon and Tomato Salsa.  This is a great refreshing summer recipe that won't upset your personal trainer and will keep the waistline tight! 

How do I lose weight in the office?

My personal training clients are always looking for ways to lose weight outside of the personal trainer's studio.  Besides actively taking advantage of the Chicago lakefront, there are a number things you can incorporate into your work day.  Try these tips to burn calories at the office.  Your personal trainer will be pleased!

1.  Run or walk the stairs for 20-30 minutes on your lunch break.

2.  Take a stroll around the office once every 45 minutes. Pretend you need to talk to someone about something important (TPS report!) or refill your water bottle (only fill it halfway each time and force yourself to get up more). Be consistent and frequent!

3.  Perform seated marches at your desk. Push your chair away from your desk (for leg clearance). While sitting upright, lift 1 leg at a time for 6-8 seconds (alternate). Repeat 10 times.

4.  Find a place to stand and work on your project. Naturally, your heartrate will drop while sitting. Stand up and work on a project!

5.  Dance with your boss. Check with your human resources department before doing so.

What's the secret to weight loss while personal training in Chicago?  Although the answer can vary depending on your body type, activity levels, and more, there are a number of changes in everyone's diet that can lead to weight loss success while meeting with a Chicago personal trainer.
